Training the head movement again with the opening and closing of the stance. The great thing about the double end bag is that it comes right back at you forcing you to move. This was towards the end of my workout, so my knees aren't bending as much as they should, due to them being on fire here!!

The road to the development of the Bruce Lee's Fighting Method begins with a solid foundation in the core fundamentals of Bruce Lee's Martial Art. With exposure to Wing Chun, Jun Fan Gung Fu (Bruce's Modified Wing Chun), Boxing, and Fencing; we look to solidify the fundamental skill sets in the starting point of this Martial Art.
The Jeet Kune Do Study Group of California is dedicated to the principles of simple and direct Martial Art techniques for the purpose of self defense. As we progress in our understanding of the acquired fundamental base, we encourage the evaluation of essential techniques discarding the non-essential towards a more practical means. We believe that efficiency stems from a tested and educated process of selection, resulting in the best possible tools for the job.
We believe that Bruce Lee's Martial Art principles are the key to sucess in Martial Arts and serve as an example of how to enhance one's well being. Bruce Lee
International Martial Arts superstar Bruce Lee (born Lee Jun Fan) started his Martial Art beginnings under the guidance of the legendary Ip Man of the Wing Chun style of Gung Fu. During the developmental progression of Bruce's training, he felt it necessary to modify a selection of Wing Chun techniques he acquired which resulted in the creation of Bruce's modified Wing Chun called "Jun Fan Gung Fu", taking on his Cantonese birth name. Progressing further still and drawing inspiration from Boxing and Fencing, Bruce named the last evolution of his martial art "Jeet Kune Do" which loosely translates "Way of the Intercepting Fist".

Training Log: Straight Punch
Straight punch practice working on opening and closing of the stance. The paper target is a great tool because it gives us a reference point while not giving too much resistance. When practicing straight punches, its important to practice full extension on the punches, and the paper allows us gauge the full extension without crowding them.

Exciting news! Amidst the seminars that Sifu Lam have already set to partake in, we would like to announce that a set of two seminars will be conducted here in our very own school in August! It will be the first time that Sifu Lam will be hosting a seminar at the "new" school since our opening one year ago! Information is as follows:
SATURDAY, AUG. 18TH
Time: 2pm to 6pm
Pricing: $60
The first day will cover the essence of the chi sao drill, as well as the importance and applications of tan sao, covering hands, pak sao, lap sao, and pulling hand. Sifu will go into details about each technique and even spend time on correcting any part of your chi sao that you might need to work on.
SUNDAY, AUG. 19TH
Time: 10am-12:00pm/ 1:30-4pm (an hour and a half of lunch break in between)
Pricing $80
The second day will cover all three sets of forms within the Wing Chun system, the practicality and application of the techniques that embodies the forms that Wing Chun users have held in high regards for so long.
Both days will be held at our school:
